Former National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief Sam Nkire, has thrown his weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of Mrs. Amina Zakari as acting chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Chief Nkire said his support for the new INEC boss was based on his knowledge of her person as a competent, dedicated and qualified woman of integrity.
The former PPA boss, now a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he came in close contact with Mrs. Zakari while she was chairman of Election and Political Party Monitoring Committee and that she proved to be very knowledgeable and focused.
According to the former PPA national chairman, President Muhammadu Buhari would not go wrong, if he confirmed Mrs. Zakari as chairman of INEC due to her level of competence and integrity.
He described the acting INEC boss as one of the best brains the Nigerian womenfolk could boast of, adding that as chairman of PPA, he saw in her, a future chairman of INEC and more.
